Star Wars fans can’t wait to jump back into a brick-filled Galaxy Far, Far Away with TT Games’ new Lego Star Wars game – but it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows for long-time fans of the series. TT Games has revealed that the character creator feature, a popular addition available in every other main Lego game, is being dropped for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
This clarification comes just days after numerous Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga character list leaks and complaints from fans that their favourite side characters haven’t made the cut.
On March 24, QuickBrickGames (a Lego game series fan account) shared a clip from an E3 2019 interview with Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga level director Mike Consalvey confirming that a character creator was coming to TT Games’ upcoming release.
In the short clip, Consalvey confidently states that “character customisation is back, as it’s always been” – however, just weeks before launch, TT Games has taken to social media to clarify that this is old information and the popular feature will not be available in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
“Hi! We’d like to address this point directly,” TT Games begins. “ This interview was from 2019, and sometimes features change throughout development. We can confirm that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga doesn’t have character customisation, but we do have 300+ characters for you to choose from.”

When questioned further, by a fan asking whether this feature could be added to the game in a post-launch update, TT Games said “we have nothing to announce on any future updates at this time.”
It does seem unlikely that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be getting a character creator in the future, but it’s not set in stone. For now, fans of Jedi like Saesee Tiin and Agen Kolar, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, and Imperial officers like General Veers, will have to go without.
TT Games has announced that seven DLC packs, including characters from The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch, will be available for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga post-launch – however, that’s it for now.
