If you log into your Legends of Runeterra account today to play the beta for the first time, then you might be surprised to see all your account progress has been reset. Riot Games has reset the progress for the last time ahead of the game’s full release later this year.
The progression reset comes with an update which makes some pretty big changes to the economy, cards, abilities, and more, but it’s all for good reason. The beta, which starts tonight, marks the start of the game’s first ranked season and Riot wants to get the meta off to a good start.
The main changes in the patch notes revolve around some of the changes made to champions, followers, and spells. Anviva, Ezreal, Vladimir, and Tryndamere have all been tweaked for the new season, as have a number of followers and spells like the Battlesmith, Fleetfeather Tracker, Avarosan Hearthguard, and Cloud Drinker.
On the economy side of things, coin prices and shard values have been changed, as have content prices. This is to align with price point standards on the Play Store and the App Store ahead of the game’s mobile release.
But it’s not all bad news. To make up for all changes and the account reset, players will earn bonus XP for their first few wins, so get grinding.
