LOUD KaBuM Fnatic in shock League of Legends Worlds 2022 victory

CBLOL representative LOUD produced a League of Legends Worlds 2022 miracle by quashing European monolith Fnatic in its Play-Ins Stage matchup

League of Legends Worlds 2022 LOUD defeats Fnatic: Brance with "Bot Gap" written on his bicep

League of Legends Worlds 2022 has bore witness to its first major upset, as CBLOL representative LOUD achieved the unthinkable and conquered Fnatic in today’s Play-Ins Stage matchup with a dominant display.

LOUD returned to drafting for comfort today, something which mid lane star Thiago ‘TinOwns’ Sartori – who was part of the KaBuM side which toppled Alliance in the now-infamous victory back at Worlds 2014 – tells The Loadout as part of an upcoming post-game interview was crucial to the win.

“We decided to get everybody into their comfort zone,” TinOwns says, “playing characters that they were comfortable with, then just let it [their gameplay] flow.”

Having secured an early lead, LOUD was able to effectively utilise its aggressive playstyle to swiftly snowball then game out of control. Despite Fnatic’s best attempts to make things happen on the map, the EU powerhouse was thwarted at almost every step.

Prior to today’s matchup, LOUD botlaner Diego ‘Brance’ Amaral had his teammates write “Bot Gap” on his bicep, which he proudly flexed on stage in an outrageous act of BM.

The Brazilian rookie evidently had his crystal ball out, as his pre-match penning foreshadowed what turned out to be a straight up clapping of Fnatic duo Elias ‘Upset’ Lipp and Zdravets ‘Hylissang’ Galabov – the LOUD bot lane ended the game with an impressive combined 10/3/21 KDA.

With just one game left against The Chiefs tomorrow, LOUD will be hoping to finish the best-of-one phase of the LoL Worlds Play-Ins Stage strongly, and lock in a spot in the Elimination Round.
