Fnatic Upset shows why Kalista is banned with LoL Worlds 2022 penta

Fnatic star Upset secured his first League of Legends Worlds pentakill, and the first pentakill of the tournament, during the team's game against The Chiefs

League of Legends Worlds 2022 Fnatic Upset Kalista penta: Upset competing in the LEC

League of Legends Worlds 2022 has barely begun, but one player has already stamped his authority on the LoL Worlds Play-Ins Stage with a pentakill. Fnatic star Elias ‘Upset’ Lipp managed the feat on Kalista during the team’s second game of the day against The Chiefs.

The moment came for the German during Fnatic’s final assault on The Chiefs’ base, 28 minutes into the match. Nearly 10,000 gold up, Fnatic begins to dive under the LCO representative’s Inhibitor turret, though the messy engagement results in the LEC side backtracking up the lane with its opponent on the chase.

However, as James ‘Tally’ Shute flashes forward, the Aussie is instantly turned upon and burst down, securing Upset his first kill. Now a man down, the remaining Chiefs make a run for the safety of their tower – Upset has other ideas.

Grabbing hold of Ruben ‘Rhuckz’ Barbosa using Kalista’s ultimate ability – Fate’s Call – Upset has his support hurl himself into the surviving members, knocking them up onto a silver platter. One by one, the botlaner proceeds to quickly clean up The Chiefs, securing both his pentakill and Fnatic’s second victory of the day in the process.

Kalista already has a 100% presence in the LoL Worlds Play-Ins pick and ban phase – as per gol.gg – with the powerful marksman being banned in seven of the eight games played on day one. Needless to say, Upset’s performance in the one game she got through is a firm reminder why it’s probably better to keep her off the Rift for now.

Upset and Fnatic will be back in action when the team takes on LJL representative DetonatioN FocusMe later on today.
