Ever been in a game of League that you just didn’t want to be in? You know, the ones where your teammates won’t listen to your strats, or you’re getting stomped by a god-like smurf in Silver 2. Wouldn’t it be good if you could just escape, without it affecting your record?
Well one player appears to have found a way to make a League of Legends match crash and forget it ever existed by pushing the game to the ragged edge. Reddit user ‘DeLamp’ posted a video of his game freezing and crashing after placing a ridiculous amount of Blue Trinkets on the map.
In the clip, a member of DeLamp’s team is busy placing Blue Trinkets around the team’s Nexus. As the teammates battle ahead trying to keep the opposing team away, the game suddenly freezes and the ‘attempting to reconnect’ message box appears. “Wait, did we break the server?” a member of the team asks. “We broke the game, bro,” another laughs.
Unfortunately, DeLamp couldn’t give an exact number on just how many Trinkets were placed to cause the game to go into meltdown.
Back in 2017, LoL YouTuber ‘Vandiril’ ran an experiment using Blue Trinkets that showed similar results to DeLamp’s clip. Vadiril, however, methodically counted the trinkets he was placing before the game crashed and found that it took between 400 and 500 of them to achieve a complete crash.
So, if you are looking for a way out of a game where you’re 0/15 and getting absolutely pummelled, but don’t want it to go on your record, then several hundred Trinkets might just be the answer!
