The results are in from the League of Legends All-Star public vote, in which LoL fans pick their two favourite pro players from each of Riot’s official leagues.
The two most popular players in each region will be invited to attend the All-Star event, which also features a number of LoL content creators and figures from the community. But who have the world’s LoL fans chosen as their favourite players?
Performances from this month’s World Championships certainly affected the voting somewhat, as in the LEC two members of G2’s roster had the most votes: Marcin ‘Jankos’ Jankowski and Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther. Despite disappointing in the final itself, G2’s run captivated the European audience. Their opponents in that final, FunPlus Phoenix, will also have a player at All-Star 2019 in Kim ‘Doinb’ Tae-sang. As was to be expected, the top pick in the LCK was three time Worlds winner Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok.
In the LCS, Yiliang ‘Doublelift’ Peng was unsurprisingly the most popular choice from North America. However, he is considering not attending the event after likening it to ‘working for free’ while broadcasting a live stream.
If he doesn’t attend, this could open the door for third-placed Bae ‘Bang’ Jun-sik of 100 Thieves to go in his place. Bang was third behind Team SoloMid’s Søren ‘Bjergsen’ Bjerg.
Here’s the full rundown of the two winners from every region:
Doublelift (Team Liquid) and Bjergsen (Team SoloMid)
Jankos and Caps (both G2 Esports)
Theshy (Invictus Gaming) and Doinb (FunPlus Phoenix)
Faker (T1) and Clid (was T1, now Gen G)
BrTT and Goku (both Flamengo eSports)
Buggax and Seiya (both Isurus Gaming)
Evi and Ceros (both DetonatioN FocusMe)
K1ng (Mammoth Gaming) and Pabu (Gravitas)
Bolulu (Fenerbahce) and Closer (was Royal Youth, now Golden Guardians in LCS)
Nomanz and AHaHaCiK (both Unicorns of Love)
League of Legends All-Star will run between December 5-7 and is hosted in Las Vegas.
You can find the full results to the public vote here. But please don’t be sad if no one else likes your favourite jungler.
