Here are the finalised LoL Worlds 2020 groups

The play-ins are over, the draw has been made, and we finally have the completed groups for LoL Worlds 2020

The play-ins have now concluded and the draw has been made, so we finally know the full groups for LoL Worlds. Team Liquid topped its play-in group, which meant it had to be placed in Group A of the main event, as it was the only group without an LCS team.

MAD Lions provided the shocks of the play-ins, knocking out INTZ by beating it twice before losing matches against Team Liquid, SuperMassive Esports, and Legacy Esports. MAD Lions lost to SuperMassive again in Round 2, securing its fate and a surprise exit in the early stages.

PSG Talon took on play-ins Group B with a makeshift squad consisting of three substitutes due to quarantine restrictions on its regular players. However, despite never having played together before the event, the team topped its group to secure its spot in the group stages. This was the biggest story of play-ins, and over a million people tuned in for PSG Talon’s final game against LGD Gaming.

Here are the final groups in full:

Group A

  • G2 Esports
  • Suning Esports
  • Machi Esports
  • Team Liquid

Group B

  • DAMWON Gaming
  • JD Gaming
  • Rogue
  • PSG Talon

Group C

  • TSM
  • Fnatic
  • Gen.G
  • LGD Gaming

Group D

  • Top Esports
  • DRX

  • Unicorns of Love

PSG Talon head into Group B, otherwise known as this year’s group of death, joining tournament favourites DAMWON and JD as well as Rogue, who should not be underestimated after coach Simon ‘Fredy122’ Payne told The Loadout they are “not scared of anyone”.

LGD Gaming has been drawn into Group C and Unicorns of Love, a team that is eyeing an upset, finishes Group D. Group stage matches start October 3, and it’s already clear fans are in for a treat.
