The previously-promised monster Helldivers 2 patch notes have finally arrived, heralding Arrowhead’s biggest update to the shooter yet. That’s not all, either, as new Helldivers 2 Warbond Viper Commandos has also landed, bringing fresh drip to the drop on PS5.
The first major patch since Johan Pilestedt stepped down as Arrowhead CEO to home in on the issues afflicting the hit multiplayer game, the freshly-appointed chief creative officer has wasted little time whipping Helldivers 2 into shape. Clocking in at a whopping 3,000 words, the new update brings everything from tweaks to the Galactic War to sweeping balance changes across the board, performance fixes to being able to create invite-only lobbies.
If the patch notes – which you can find here – are a little too unwieldy for you to peruse comfortably, Pilestedt himself has offered up a primer on some of the patch’s biggest highlights, as well as Arrowhead’s reasoning behind the shifts you’ll now see in the PS5 exclusive.
The general response to the Helldivers 2 patch notes so far has been incredibly positive, with most of the changes being received well by the community. It’s fantastic to see Arrowhead has responded with force to the numerous gripes we’ve all been having with the co-op game, and I can imagine it’s restored the faith of many in the balance team.
Further exemplifying the studio’s receptiveness to feedback is the incoming Viper Commandos Warbond which has also just gone live. Arrowhead recently switched up the cadence of its Warbond launches, offering more time between drops to ensure they’re the highest possible quality. Viper Commandos is the first content pack to receive this extra love and it really shows – banger.
