Goat Simulator 3 isn't sheepish about herding its next batch of content together, as Coffee Stain Studios unveils its collab with board game Catan.

Catan sheep and the Goat in Goat Simulator 3 Catan DLC

The pedestrians of San Angora have seen delights and terrors beyond comprehension in Goat Simulator 3. On each street corner, the goat-tagonist causes mayhem, but now it’s time to ram your way to glory. Developer Coffee Stain Studios is collaborating with the popular board game Catan, to bring players the ultimate sheep mayhem experience. It might be April Fool’s Day, but we aren’t pulling the wool over your eyes.

Yes, your eyes aren’t deceiving you, Goat Simulator 3 is bringing players a brand new DLC drop as part of a unique collaboration with Catan. Enthusiasts of the world-renowned board game may have noticed the disappearance of Catan’s iconic sheep on social media, and now, players can take control of the sheep on the streets of San Angora. But don’t worry Goat Simulator 3’s Pilgor isn’t gone forever, as the Catan crossover allows players to switch between Pilgor and Catan’s sheep at will.

Conversely, Catan players will see that Pilgor is making an appearance in the board game, assuming the mantle left behind within the sheep’s resource card role. According to the developer, it is vital to note that “Catan players on Board Game Arena and Catan Console Edition will be able to see Pilgor in her interim position as Catan’s new goat for a limited time” until midnight on April 1.

Speaking about the wild collaboration, Coffee Stain North creative director Santiago Ferrero explains that “we couldn’t be happier to welcome Catan’s sheep to San Angora, sheep are basically fluffier goats at the end of the day so we know she’ll fit right in. The island could also use a break from the troublesome Pilgor.” Adding to Ferrero’s comments, Catan Studio CEO Pete Fenlon says “it brings us shear joy that our beloved sheep has been found safe and sound, and that she is having a great time in San Angora. While she is on her woolly adventure, we are equally happy to welcome Pilgor to Catan.”

Don’t worry if you’ve never played Catan before. Available in physical form or on consoles, the game is known for its innovative negotiation-baed gameplay, that sees players build cities, roads and settlements. Through using resources gathered over the course of a game, players can win by attaining ten victory points.

Catan’s sheep is live now in Goat Simulator 3 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Epic Games Store. Now crack on and get playing some Hoofball with the rest of the herd or check out the latest selection of Xbox Game Pass April 2023 games.
