New Fornite weekly quest system is the “worst” change yet

Fortnite players are diving into their Winterfest Weekly quests, but Epic Games' new approach to Weekly quests isn’t going down well with battle royale fans

The snow is falling on the island in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 and the Winterfest Weekly quests are swiftly rolling out. Claiming those mega XP boosts is essential for completing the Battle Pass, but following a recent change to the Weekly system, players in the Fortnite community are voicing their displeasure.

Whether you’re a seasoned or new Fortnite player, Weekly quests are a great way to earn big XP rewards. If you play Fortnite on a semi-regular basis, the great thing about them is that they remained available to complete later. Now, developer Epic Games has added a timer to them, making it vital for players to complete them as soon as possible.

Naturally, this small but important change isn’t sitting well with players on the Fortnite subreddit. Redditor ‘JakeBoycometh’ says “what was wrong with them as they were?”, highlighting the tweak with a comedic Jonesy meme.

“They think we’ll play more instead of only the last week,” another player adds. They claim completing timed weekly quests won’t be as easy between “work and sleep and eat and shower every goddamn day.” Conversely, some players are concerned the game’s sense of humour is slipping away, as “funny and easy milestones” are allegedly disappearing as a result.

Epic Games is yet to address whether they’ll revert to the older system, though it’s likely this tweak is here to stay.

If you don’t have time to snap up all the Weekly quests, then we recommend taking advantage of this super easy Fortnite perk exploit. They’ll be plenty of time to level up though, as we look forward to the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 release date.
