Guild Esports is putting even more investment into its Fortnite roster as the UK organisation signs 15-year-old Jannis ‘JannisZ’ Matwin. The German star is the reigning EU champion after winning the FNCS Chapter 2 Season 5 title in a stacked trio alongside existing Guild player Henrik ‘Hen’ Mclean and Moussa ‘Chapix’ Faour.
Despite being so young, JannisZ has already racked up over $280,000 in tournament prize money, and is currently third in the EU region’s power rankings. The addition of yet another top-tier Fortnite pro further extends Guild’s position as the top-ranked team in Europe.
While it only signed its first Fortnite player less than six months ago, Guild now boasts one of the most stacked rosters in all of Fortnite esports. As well as reigning champions Hen and JannisZ, it also has Nikolaj ‘Flikk’ Frøslev, Anas ‘Anas’ El-Abd, and two-time FNCS winner Tai ‘TaySon’ Starčič at its disposal. All five members of Guild’s roster are currently feature in the top ten of the EU rankings.
With JannisZ joining, he will be reunited with TaySon, who was a regular teammate for the German throughout 2020. Now that Guild has three players on board that have regularly and recently played with each other (JannisZ, Hen, and TaySon) there’s certainly scope for an all-Guild trio in Chapter 2 Season 6.

Guild’s continued investment in Fortnite esports and drive to dominate the European scene has been a surprise to many, but it has rapidly signed on some of the continent’s best young talents to arguably have the biggest presence in EU Fortnite right now.
