What could it be?

Epic Games is set to make a “special announcement” about Fortnite at The Game Awards on Thursday, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re a fan of the game.

The popular battle royale shooter has been nominated for four awards at Geoff Keighley’s show this year, including Best Esports Game, Best Ongoing Game, and Best Esports Event, so it’s set to be an incredible event for Epic employees, but it looks like players will get something back in return for voting and tuning in.

Although it’s unclear what this “special announcement” will be, expect something new. At last year’s event, The Block and the Creative mode was revealed, which has only propelled the game’s growth and popularity among the community.

The special announcement could be about the upcoming competitive season, the Fortnite World Cup, or simply just new features for the game. Whatever it is, the community is excited, and so are we.

And if that’s not enough to whet your appetite for the awards, Keighley has confirmed ten new games will be announced live on air – just don’t expect to see anything about Resident Evil 3. There’s also rumours that a new PUBG map will be unveiled.

The Game Awards takes place on Thursday, December 12 at 5:30 PT (8:30AM ET/ 1:30AM GMT).
