Fortnite streamer Ewok signs an exclusivity deal to return to Twitch

Soleil ‘Ewok’ Wheeler has become the latest big name streamer to return to Twitch after the closure of Mixer, going live to over 20,000 viewers while playing Fortnite and Fall Guys. Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek, one of the world’s biggest streamers, also returned to Twitch recently.

The streaming future of Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins remains up in the air, although he too has streamed on Twitch since Mixer’s closure, though he has also streamed on YouTube as he contemplates his future. Meanwhile, Guy ‘Dr DisRespect’ Beahm, has left Twitch under a cloud, being banned despite apparently claiming he did “nothing to warrant” it.

Ewok’s return will not generate as many headlines as Shroud’s return, Dr DisRespect’s departure, nor Ninja’s eventual decision, but she is an incredibly interesting character on the streaming scene. Having her return to Twitch is great news for her 291,00 followers.

Ewok is FaZe Clan’s first female member, joining last year aged just 13, and is deaf. She’s a very popular streamer, and fans will have been happy to see her Twitch return mark her first stream since June. It saw her pick up 32 new subscribers, which puts the massive 13,000 new subscribers Shroud pulled in on his return into perspective.

Earlier this year, Ewok made the 2020 Forbes list of 30 under 30, and Teen Vogue’s 21 under 21, and with her streaming future now sorted, will be looking to build on that success and establish herself as one of the top streamers in the world.

“Mixer is a part of my journey that I will always cherish. I learned from the community there, and they helped me grow as a streamer,” she says of her return, but with her, Shroud, and possibly Ninja heading back to Twitch, it does feel like a bit of a homecoming is going on.
