Are you still looking forward to the next Escape From Tarkov wipe from Battlestate Games? Well, following the new Escape From Tarkov task that tests your nerve with a Tagilla melee quest, the developer has introduced a handful of new shotgun shells to the extraction shooter – and some of them are explosive.

Yes, you’re reading that right; Escape From Tarkov’s latest mini-event is introducing explosive shotgun shells to the game. Specifically, thanks to some information from ‘LogicalSolutions‘ on social media, it looks like there are three new Escape From Tarkov ammo types for the TOZ-106 20ga bolt action shotgun and the MTs 20-01 Sb.3 shotgun. These are: Elephant Killer slug, Flechetta Plus slug, and Explosive slug.

At the moment, these ammo types are craft only – so, you might not see too many of them out and about. However, we can only imagine how devastating being hit with an explosive shell would be when you’re trying to extract in one piece – or get your hands on more loot.

With the addition of these new shotgun shells seemingly being just another daily event for the FPS game, you should expect to see them removed and unavailable from December 23 at 00:00 PST / 03:00 EST / 08:00 GMT. You can check out Escape From Tarkov’s social media teaser for yourself right here.

However, it’s worth noting that we have no idea if you’ll be able to keep any of these shells if you have them stored somewhere – Battlestate Games hasn’t been very clear about that. But, you never know what’s going to happen before a wipe.

If you’re sitting there wondering what an Escape From Tarkov wipe even is, allow us to explain. When Battlestate Games wipes Tarkov, it resets everyone’s progress – skills, stats, and inventories included. So, from that point onwards, everyone is on something of a level playing field. These almost always coincide with the release of a major update, though, so it’s not all bad.

If you’re just getting into Escape From Tarkov – or returning from a break – it’s worth reading up on some of our Escape From Tarkov tips ahead of any wipe. It’s also worth keeping an eye out for the latest Escape From Tarkov patch notes – which we’ll update as soon as more are available.
