Dota 2’s The International 10 prize pool has reached $30 million. The eye-watering amount is raised by the MOBA’s fans buying Valve’s Dota 2 Battle Pass to get cool cosmetics and items for the game. The money will be won by the team that wins The International 10, whenever it finally takes place.
Dota 2’s Battle Pass is legendary. Players have always managed to push the boundaries of esports prize pools with Dota 2, and this year is no different. When the Battle Pass came out, it took just 24 hours to reach $8 million, then continued to surge to $20 million in a month.
Now just over two months after its release the Battle Pass prize pool is at a whopping $30 million. No doubt the teams participating in The International 10 will be excited to compete to win the cash, but unfortunately, we’re not even sure when the event will take place as it’s currently postponed.
In any case, if you want to contribute to the prize pool yourself, you might be glad to hear that the Immortal II Treasure has been added into the game, and you can get your hands on some shiny cosmetics if you so choose.
We’ll definitely be sure to tell you when TI10 will happen but it’s likely that when it does, we won’t see The International 11 until 2022.
