One of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s top talents right now, Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut, has signed a new contract with Team Vitality which keeps him at the organisation until 2024.

The Frenchman, who turned 20 years old last month, has been an integral part of Vitality’s climb to the top of the HLTV World Rankings and largely successful second half of 2020. Vitality has been the dominant force in the BLAST Premier Fall Series and won the Intel Extreme Masters XV Beijing event. While it couldn’t end the season in winning fashion at the IEM XV Global Challenge, the news that ZywOo is now tied down for the next four years will be reason to celebrate for Vitality fans.

To celebrate the star AWPer’s new long-term contract, Vitality plastered his face across its home city of Paris by projecting holograms onto landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Pantheon

In a press release, ZywOo says that he is “excited” to commit his future to the organisation he joined as a 17-year-old.

“Being a member of Team Vitality has always been such a natural fit for me,” ZywOo says. “2020 was a crazy year and I know that having Team Vitality and my teammates support me was one of the main reasons I excelled. I am really excited to make this commitment and wear the Team Vitality shirt for another four years.”

In 2019, ZywOo was undoubtedly the world’s best CS:GO player, scooping a record amount of MVP titles and being crowned HLTV’s Player of the Year. After another impressive year, he is in contention to scoop the award again for 2020.

Sadly, there are no details on how much this massive new contract is worth, but for a player of ZywOo’s calibre and for a deal of this length, it is likely one of the biggest ever signed by a CS:GO player.
