CS:GO pro Jesper ‘JW’ Wecksell was left red-faced after a shocker of an AWP miss during Fnatic’s ESL Pro League match against Astralis.
The miss happened in round 27 of game two with Fnatic trailing 12-14 on Train. The Swede, who had just taken out Nicolai ‘dev1ce’ Reedtz with a clean snipe at A site, had the seemingly simple job of securing the 1v1 against Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth, who was stood completely still while defusing the bomb. However, he somehow pulls his shot and misses Xyp9x who has time to complete the defuse before JW could reload his AWP. Fnatic not only lost that round but lost the entire game two and succumbed to a 2-0 defeat.
This lead to some hilarious reactions from the casters and the Astralis team, who couldn’t quite believe that they’d won the round. Following the miss, the caster shouts: “Nooo! It’s all gone wrong! Ahhh, JW… Disaster has struck Fnatic.” Meanwhile, the extremely lucky Xyp9x turns to the camera with a smirk while rubbing his hands, and coach Danny ‘Zonic’ Sørensen can be seen in the background having a little chuckle.
Luckily, JW could see the humorous side of his horror miss.
Bad conditions and too many mistakes… ☹️🤪
Jokes aside, we lost to a better team today and we can only learn and improve from this! GG’s

Following the 2-0 sweep, Astralis took top spot in Group C of the Pro League having won all three of their games without dropping a single map. Fnatic are behind them in second place ahead of North and Aristocracy.
