Jumping with the deagle is CS:GO’s new meta

The Krieg meta is dead

After months of complaints, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s Krieg meta is finally dead. Valve nerfed the gun in the latest update, but buffed the Desert Eagle, giving the pistol and increased rate of accuracy while jumping. That change alone has given rise to a new meta and it’s pretty infuriating.

Valve buffed the deagle last week during its April 10 update and it seems to have made the pistol easier to master. The pistol only costs $700 dollars and its incredibly high armour percentage makes it the most powerful sidearms in the game.

But now that the weapon has pinpoint accuracy mid-air players are using it as their primary to destroy your standard competitive tactics. If you’ve played a competitive game in the last few days, you’ll have probably come across players jumping around the map non-stop firing shots at every angle they know.

The buff has already led to some pretty nutty trick shots being posted online, but players are already calling for it to be nerfed.

“This does not seem to be the kind of tweak the dgl needed,” Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif says on Twitter. “Not a fan of this. Let me say it with other words. The dgl didn’t need a change. This is not COD, Fortnite, or Overwatch.”
