Ten years ago today, the Counter-Strike world lost an incredible talent in Toni ‘Cyx’ Daniloski. The talented player was on his way back from Frankfurt Airport after missing a flight to attend IEM Shanghai when he was involved in a fatal car accident. Now, ten years on, mousesports, his old team, have started a fundraiser to help his family to continue to tend to and visit his grave.
The esports organisation is hoping to raise €10,000 to “support his mother with the ongoing expenses of honouring his life and legacy” according to the GoFundMe page. The fund, which ESL and a number of other kind souls have donated to, has already reached €2,000.
In conjunction with the fundraiser, ESL has also put together a tribute, in which Fatih ‘gob b’ Dayik talks about how cyx was brought into the team and how his legacy and spirit lives on today.
“He was extremely talented and had a highly competitive spirit,” gob b says. “He showed me that with a strong will and dedication I could achieve anything. I am so unbelievably proud that I had the chance to play with him.”
We love you, brother. Always. ❤️ Rest In Peace, Toni.https://t.co/Bx8cZJwUuB
Any donations would be greatly appreciated and all proceeds will go directly to his mother to help pay for maintaining Toni’s grave and funeral visits.
