Raven Software has dropped the patch notes for Call of Duty: Warzone Season Two Reloaded, and fans of the AUG may want to look away now. The 52GB update (58GB if you’re playing on Xbox) fixes some small issues and bugs, including increasing the consistency of armor spawns and reworking the ping system to be more intuitive.
However, the AUG is the headline, and with good reason. Raven Software has increased the base recoil magnitude of the tactical rifle, making it much harder to control and hit all your shots. Taking an opponent down in a single magazine may be a thing of the past, even with a weapon that was known as one of the best Warzone guns.
Whether that title will be revoked or not remains to be seen, but for now you won’t be as worried if an opponent comes at you equipped with the best AUG Warzone loadout, because you can rely on the increased recoil slicing their aim.
The patch notes also make a few changes to attachments. The Cavalry Lancer barrel now increases damage done to vehicles, variable and smooth zoom scopes now mount vertical walls properly, and bugs were fixed on other barrels and firing animations.
The Season Two Reloaded patch is live now, so grab your AUG to see if the recoil changes will condemn it to an unused loadout, or whether you think you can master the new pattern and continue to beam players at will.
If you’re looking for an AUG replacement, we’d recommend opting for the best M16 Warzone loadout. It is already seeing usage creep back up following the AUG nerf and could be back on top as Warzone players’ go-to tactical rifle.
Alternatively, you could just use the new Bombardment killstreak item to bomb your enemies – if you can find the key, that is.
