In this battle royale, there's always a new weapon on top - so, here's everything you need to know about the Call of Duty Warzone meta going into Season 5

We know you might already know this, but Call of Duty Warzone is updated pretty regularly and there’s always another weapon balancing sweep to look forward to. This means that the Warzone meta is always changing. You can never quite be certain that your favourite assault rifle is going to be on-top forever. So, that’s why it’s important to know what the best Warzone guns are and which weapons to stick into your own best Warzone loadouts.

Thankfully, we have you covered with our breakdown of the current Warzone meta below. We know we’d all like to think that the days of having a handful of broken weapons dominating the battle royale are over, but that’s not exactly the case. There are always a handful of guns you can rely on being ‘up there’, so to speak.

But, believe it or not, Warzone is in quite a healthy place right now. In the past, we’ve seen Warzone become a battle royale dominated by literally one weapon. Now, though, you have some options to choose from. So, without further ado, here are your options.

Warzone meta – which weapons are on top?

Throughout the last season of content, we have seen quite a few buffs and nerfs introduced shaking up the Warzone meta far more than we’ve seen before. But, going into Warzone Season 5, what are the best setups right now based on in-game stats?

The most popular Warzone weapons right now are the Armaguerra 43, the KG M40, the Cooper Carbine, the STG44, and the Marco 5. The NZ-41 has taken a huge dive since the last wave of nerfs. You can check out our Armaguerra 43 Warzone loadout right here, if you want to use the most popular weapon out there right now.

Interestingly, if you’re looking at kill-death ratios, you’ll find a different selection of weapons. Well, almost. The Combat Shotgun (1.38), the Armaguerra 43 (1.29), and the H4 Blixen (1.26) all boast high K/D ratios. The UGM 8, the MG 82, the KG M40, and the Marco 5 all offer up a K/D above 1.2 too.

Warzone meta perks

Unlike the weapons, Warzone’s meta perks usually stay the same. To be fair, there aren’t many that actually get added – although a couple have – so, when one becomes popular, it stays that way.

For Perk 1, Serpentine and Double Time maintain the top spot with 33% and 28% respectively. Old reliable Cold-Blooded has now dropped to third place 21%.

For Perk 2, Overkill is a dominant choice – as you might expect – with just over two thirds of players having Overkill in their loadouts. However, there are other options. Ghost is used in roughly 18% of loadouts, and Tempered and High Alert are both being used by a lot of high-skill players – that is, players that win.

And, for Perk 3, Combat Scout is definitely the most popular choice with a 38% pick rate. Amped is also viable with a 33% pick rate.

Warzone Pacific meta equipment

There’s plenty of equipment to choose from in Warzone, especially in the standard Battle Royale playlist, but some tacticals and lethals are considerably more popular than others.

The most recent usage stats suggest the most popular equipment combo is Semtex and Heartbeat Sensor. Semtex are the most popular lethal with a 33% usage rate, closely followed by Throwing Knives (22%). Heartbeat Sensors (39%) lead the way for tactical equipment, but Stims (28%), following their nerf, are back on the rise and closer to the 30% we’ve seen in recent months.
