Warzone loadout of the week: IceManIsaac’s “perfect SMG”

IceManIsaac's MP5 is our Warzone Loadout of the Week

Players dropping in to the new Verdansk 84 map

Greetings, one and all, and welcome back to the latest entry in our ‘Warzone loadout of the week’ series, where we take a look at all the loadouts being used by pro Warzone players, streamers, and YouTubers and cherry-pick an absolute beauty for you every single Tuesday.

In past weeks we’ve had offerings from the likes of ‘JGOD’, Thomas ‘Tommey’ Trewren, and Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff, but today it’s the turn of Isaac ‘IceManIsaac’ Hamilton. The Warzone tournament regular lifted the lid on a disgracefully strong build for the Cold War MP5, which he dubs “the perfect SMG” and is built to “get in people’s faces” in Verdansk.

In his video below, IceManIsaac explains that after crunching the numbers, his old build for his MP5 – which tried to make up for its lack of range by using attachments like the Task Force barrel and Agency Suppressor – was not the best way to flesh out the SMG. Instead of trying to patch up the weaknesses of the MP5, you should instead play to its strengths.

As you’ll see in a moment, his attachments boost the MP5’s already decent mobility and speed stats through the roof, making this unstoppable at close range. As is expected, he balances this by pairing it with the definitive long-range assault rifle, the CR-56 AMAX.

With IceManIsaac singing the praises of this class and saying its been helping him play the best Warzone of his life recently, this is certainly one you’ll want to try out if you like to be hyper-aggressive in the battle royale. Here’s the details.

MP5 Build

  • Sound Suppressor
  • Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Raider Stock
  • Bruiser Group
  • STANAG 50 Rnd Drum Mag

Here it is then: “the perfect SMG”. That’s a bold statement, especially when you consider the likes of the best MAC-10 Warzone loadout and the best LC10 Warzone loadout. But this combination of attachments makes you a speedy, agile, and aggressive opponent for close-range battles.

Gone are the Agency Suppressor and Task Force barrel, with the Sound Suppressor and a Bruiser Grip in their places. A switch to a Tiger Team Spotlight instead of the usual laser attachments also guarantees a large boost to your movement speed, and there’s no need for an optic thanks to the Cold War MP5’s super clean standard iron sight.

It’s a monster, but it needs a strong AR partner. Enter…

AMAX Build

  • Monolithic Suppressor
  • XRK Zodiac S440 Barrel
  • VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Commando Foregrip
  • 45 Round Mags

If you’ve watched pretty much any top streamer or tournament player, you’ll know that this is the ultimate AMAX build, and is the same one featured in our best AMAX Warzone loadout guide.

It’s the best long-range beamer around, even after its nerfs. What else is there to say?

Perks

We’re not 100% certain on the perks IceManIsaac is running with this loadout, as he is equipped with the Specialist Bonus that was available from the Nakatomi Vault that awards him all perks.

However, the most likely combination will be Double Time, Overkill, and Amped. With a hyper-aggressive loadout like this one, that trio of perks is arguably the best.

Equipment

For his equipment, IceManIsaac is running the one of the most used tacticals in the current Warzone meta, the Heartbeat Sensor, and a Throwing Knife as his lethal to quickly secure eliminations on downed enemies.

Give this Warzone class a try next time you’re dropping into Verdansk, or change the build on your current MP5 Warzone loadout, and see if you agree with IceManIsaac that this really is the “perfect” SMG in Season 3.
