MW3 Season 4 Reloaded is here, and while this mid-season update is ideal for standard multiplayer skirmishes on PS5 and Xbox, it is MW3 Zombies players who are finally getting some decent treats this time around. If you’ve been looking for the thrill of a death-defying challenge in MWZ, then this quest to unlock the slick MW3 Unstable Rift camo needs to be your next priority.
Unlocking this addition to your best MW3 loadouts isn’t entirely obvious, as it is locked behind one of the hardest challenges available to MW3 Zombies players on PS5 and Xbox. However, if you’re up for a bloody battle to the end, then Call of Duty YouTuber ‘LegoUnlocked’ outlines crucial steps to acquiring the Mark of The Survivor weapon skin. According to the FPS game guru, you’ll need to follow these steps:
- Find the three Obelisks around the map, and activate them (these spawn at random)
- Kill zombies inside the circle that spawns with the Ammo Mod indicated on the Obelisks’ surface
- Once you’ve done this, an Unstable Rift portal will be marked on your map
- Enter the Unstable Rift
- Survive five ways of endless zombie chaos (to advance each round, you’ll need to defeat the special boss that appears in every round)
Unstable Rifts are what Sledgehammer Games is branding as endgame multiplayer game content for Modern Warfare Zombies, meaning that the chances of survival are extremely slim. In our experience within these rifts, you can easily die within two to three hits if you’re swamped by masses of undead enemies in tight spaces.
As Urzikstan and the discordant version of Al Mazrah presented in the rift weren’t purpose built for Modern Warfare Zombies, rounding up zombies to train them around the map isn’t as easy as it would be on classic maps like Kino Der Toten or recent editions like Black Ops Cold War‘s Die Maschine. However, for your efforts, you will be rewarded with the Mark of The Survivor camo, which engulfs your weapon with a dazzling red lightning effect. The skin will be made available for the MW3 gun you completed the Unstable Rift with, so choose wisely.
In other gaming news, we’ve had our hands on The First Descendant early, and we’re worried it could meet a similar fate to Anthem.
