Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are trailblazing the FPS arena, as the latest Call of Duty entry unleashes the Season 01 Reloaded midseason update. Providing players with an arsenal of quality-of-life fixes, the new update introduces MW2’s first-ever Raid. Epic loot awaits those brave enough to fight, but mysterious secrets are waiting to be found.
The Atomgrad Raid, which has a Destiny 2-style approach throughout, sees players band together for high-tier loot. You’ll need to put your own squad together, though, as MW2 Raid matchmaking is disabled. That means you won’t be recruiting corpses like Warzone 2’s DMZ mode. With a squad in place, maybe that means you’ll have a chance at solving the Raid’s hidden easter eggs.
Call of Duty influencer ‘Modern Warzone’ reveals in a recent Twitch broadcast that “the other thing I forgot to mention, there’s going to be easter eggs in the Raid. They didn’t tell [me] anything else [other] than that there would be some.” The revelation is the result of a discussion the influencer had with the devs, looking at MW2’s and Warzone 2’s future.
While details are limited regarding the easter egg parameters, it has been claimed by Call of Duty YouTuber ‘GeekyPastimes’ that there are 20 pieces of Intel to collect during the Atomgrad Raid. Similar to Modern Warfare 2’s Spec Ops missions, Intel gives players an insight into the wider lore of the COD universe, while netting some tasty XP in the process.
You won’t be able to access the Raid with just sheer multiplayer skill either. Modern Warfare 2 Raid assignments are vital for getting started. On your hunt for the easter egg, at least you’ll have a chance at gaining the Atomgrad Raid rewards along the way. Oh, and make sure to bring Modern Warfare 2’s best guns to the fight.
