We’ve picked out a selection of the best Xbox Series X bundles and Xbox Series S bundles so that anybody who’s decided that they want to add the console to their collection will be able to get started in the most cost-effective way. As well as the console itself, a great bundle can also get you a great game to play right out of the box, a subscription to Game Pass, or maybe a controller for a second player too.

Before we get started, some of you might like to read our Xbox Series X review or our Xbox Series S review for a better idea of what Microsoft’s most powerful console can do. Anyway, without further ado, here are a few exciting bundles that’ll get you one of the best gaming consoles, along with some of the best Xbox games.

Here are the best Xbox Series X|S bundles:

Xbox Series X bundles

Here are some of our favorite bundles for the more powerful Xbox Series X.

Best Xbox Series X Bundles: Forza Horizon 5, along with the Hot Wheels expansion.

1. Xbox Series X – Forza Horizon 5 bundle

Forza Horizon 5 is easily one of the best games on Xbox Series X (just read our Forza Horizon 5 review). It can be played on an Xbox One, but it’s such a behemoth of a game that the loading times are enormous, so you’ll get more enjoyment out of it on the Series X. In it, you’ll spend a lot of time driving around the gorgeous Mexican countryside, and it stands as a shining example of the exquisite graphics the current Xbox generation is capable of.

If you have any friends who have the game, you can set up a convoy with them and explore its vast open world as a group. As Xbox co-op games go, this is a fantastic example of the fun that can be had when sharing an experience with a group of friends. Outside of your friends, there’s a bustling community of players ready to race against you, and even user-generated content that provides unique driving challenges.

Whether you’re a casual gamer, or a hardcore gamer, Forza Horizon 5 is a great place to start with the Xbox Series X. It caters to all tastes, and if you want a really challenging racing game, you can have that, but if you want to leisurely drive around exploring without any pressure, you can do that too. As an added bonus, the game even comes with all of its DLC.

Best Xbox Series X bundles: Diablo IV.

2. Xbox Series X – Diablo IV

Diablo IV is a game that has been hotly anticipated for some time. Coming almost a decade after Diablo III, this new game looks set to improve upon the series formula in almost every conceivable way. The graphics look absolutely fantastic (especially when compared to previous entries) and from what we’ve seen of the story so far, it looks as though it takes itself more seriously. Fans are sure to be delighted when it finally releases.

A big thing about this one though, is that it isn’t out yet. You can pre-order the bundle, but you won’t get your next Xbox for a few months. This might be fine for Xbox One owners who have been waiting for a big game like this to come along. Diablo IV is also compatible with the Xbox One, but it’s going to be one of those games that play a lot better on the Xbox Series X.

This is going to be a game with a strong emphasis on online play (read our Diablo IV multiplayer guide to find out more), so you’ll want your console to perform at its best. Nobody likes the experience of losing in an online game, but purely because of performance-based issues that are out of your hands. This bundle is a good way to ensure you get started off right in Diablo IV.

Xbox Series S bundles

The small but mighty Xbox Series S is super affordable to begin with, but these bundles are even better value.

Best Xbox Series S Bundles: Game Pass.

1. Xbox Series S – Game Pass

The Xbox Series S is a digital-only console. If you’re thinking of buying one, then we think it’s safe to assume that you probably don’t feel too much of an emotional attachment to physical copies of games. If you go for a bundle that gives you three months of Game Pass too, then you’re taking it out of the box with keys to the console’s huge library.

If you look at our list of all Xbox Game Pass games, you’ll see that there are absolutely loads of games in the service. Regardless of your taste in videogames, chances are, there’ll be something in that selection that appeals to you. Indeed, chances are there’ll be tons of games on it that appeal to you, as it contains options from so many genres and so many eras of gaming history.

Is Game Pass worth it? We think so – and that’s when you’re paying for it. Getting a shiny new Xbox Series S, along with three months of pre-paid Game Pass is a fantastic deal. We’re sure you’ll find a new game to fall in love with and get hundreds of hours of joy out of it.

Best Xbox Series S Bundles: the Gilded Hunter bundle.

2. Xbox Series S – Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys

Some readers are doubtlessly going to wonder what the point is in getting a bundle that comes with games that you can already download for free. Well, this package (known as the Gilded Hunter bundle) gives you loads of in-game currency in these games (which you’d usually have to fork out quite a lot for) and you can use that to unlock loads of really cool pieces of content.

In Fortnite (one of the best free shooting games), you can use the money to help you unlock new characters, and this thing has crossovers from everywhere, so that’s sure to be appreciated. In Rocket League (which sees you using cars to play a giant version of football), you can use the currency to expand your selection of cars beyond the basic set that you start with, and into more interesting territories. Meanwhile, Fall Guys has tons of cool cosmetics (including crossover items) which you can use to modify the weird, blobby creatures that you play as.

This bundle is one of the best ways for you to get a headstart on these popular free Xbox games. Each of these games has a very dedicated player base, and they’re all games that it’s easy to spend enormous amounts of time with them.

Best Xbox Series S bundle: Redfall.

3. Xbox Series S – Redfall

Redfall is a game that puts you in control of a group of humans who must fight to survive on an island that has been infested with vampires. To mark the advent of the Redfall release date, there’s a special Xbox Series S bundle that means you’ll get the game along with your new console.

The Redfall multiplayer is a big part of the appeal of the game, as it gives you and your friends to go out vampire hunting together. The game’s world can be quite creepy and atmospheric at times, but then you can also have a lot of action-packed fun in it, so it all adds up to be quite a thrilling experience overall.

Redfall is only available on the Xbox Series X|S and PC, so if you’re somebody who has an Xbox One and is waiting for the right moment to make the upgrade, this could be it, especially when you consider all the other games on offer with Game Pass.

How to pick the right Xbox Series X or Series S bundle

Once you’ve made the decision to buy into the next generation of Xbox consoles, it may be tricky to decide which bundle will be right for you. Here are the key points to consider:

  • Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S: which of these two consoles suits you best? The Xbox Series X has a disc drive and slightly more processing power, but it also carries a heftier price tag. The Xbox Series S is cheaper, but can only play digital games and is a slightly less powerful console (though still better than Xbox One).
  • Physical vs digital games: while the Xbox Series X is capable of playing physical games, all of these bundles include only a digital copy of the games mentioned. If any of these are games that you’re very keen to have on your shelf, then you’ll probably not want to buy them bundled in this way
  • Pre-orders: sometimes bundles are made to coincide with the release of highly anticipated games. These games may be your reason for buying the console, but keep in mind that if you are pre-ordering a bundle, you’ll have to wait until the release date before you can get the console
  • Free-to-play games: certain bundles come packed with premium features for free-to-play games, rather than standard games. If you love those types of games, that’ll be great, but we appreciate that some gamers aren’t going to see the value in that, so it’s worth thinking about carefully
