Looking for everything we know ahead of the Assassin's Creed Mirage release date? Here is what has leaked or been revealed so far

Assassin's Creed Mirage Release Date: Basim can be seen attacking some enemies.

Well, there it is. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to be the next great adventure in the series and it sounds like it’s going to take the iconic franchise back to its roots. Rather than offering an expansive and vast open-world experience, Mirage is a more condensed and focused game. But beyond those broad strokes, what else do we know ahead of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date?

After a number of leaks, details for the game have finally been revealed and it does seem like the dream game for classic fans. Returning features are here from past games and Mirage takes the series back to its roots. It also looks like Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Basim is going to be a better assassin than Ezio – which isn’t a bad thing. Below, we will chronicle everything we know about the game.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date rumours

The Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date is set for August 2023, reportedly. It will release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. This announcement of a 2023 release was made at the Ubisoft Forward showcase in September 2022. However, a report from Insider Gaming suggests the release window is actually narrowed down to August 2023.

Originally this Spring 2023 window came from a leak from J0nathon, corroborated by Jason Schreier from Bloomberg. But that window hasn’t been announced yet.

However, Assassin’s Creed fanpage ‘AccessTheAnimus‘ has suggested that Assassin’s Creed Mirage could release on May 15, 2023. This is an estimate based on a pre-order, so it’s worth taking with a pinch of salt given the fact that we haven’t learned anything about this game’s release date officially yet. But a May or June release time certainly sounds plausible.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage story

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take place in the late ninth century in Baghdad. It will star fan-favourite character Basim from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and is set 20 years before that game.

After Valhalla, it is discovered that Basim is a human reincarnation of Loki who belongs to a higher, ancient humanoid species, so that may play a key role in Mirage’s story.

The reveal trailer for the game shows his origin as a hidden one and sets the stage for the game.
