Nessy, one of the top Apex Legends teams in the EU region, has signed a contract with an organisation. The Nessy players announced the move on social media, but they are remaining tight-lipped about which team has snapped them up.
Nessy is widely regarded as one of the best competitors in the region, and up there with the best in the world, but the players have had a rocky time with organisations. Jake ‘jmw’ Walters, Martin ‘Graceful’ Wongprom, and Rasmus ‘maydeelol’ Zettergren played for Triumph until the organisation released its whole roster and ceased competition in Apex Legends. The players stayed together as Nessy for five months, before Graceful and maydeelol signed to North’s all-Scandinavian roster in December 2020.
The group reformed Nessy in February 2021, after North’s dramatic collapse. Since then, the team has reportedly fended off contracts with big orgs, holding out for something that suited them perfectly. The group is highly sought-after, as Nessy hasn’t finished outside of the top five in any ALGS tournament this year, with highlights being a second-place finish in ALGS Winter Circuit 2 and also grabbing silver in the GLL Masters Spring tournament earlier this month.
“It’s been a long time, but finally we’ve found a place we can call home,” Graceful explains on Twitter, along with the dinosaur emoji that has become Nessy’s calling card. It is currently unknown whether the trio will keep the Nessy moniker, but if they have signed to a top-tier organisation it seems unlikely.

Nessy has been seeded into Group B at the ALGS Championship, due to the fact that the three players have amassed the second-most ALGS points in the EMEA region over the course of the Apex Legends Global Series. They will face off against the likes of NAVI, Les cités de France, and Reply Totem Esports in a very competitive group.
