Psychonauts 2’s rank system is what signifies your overall progress in the game. New ranks show that you have completed more of the game and also collected more of the collectables that are scattered about each location.
Reaching new ranks also awards you with Intern Credit (or Skill Points). Intern Credit can be spent on the nine Psi Abilities in the game. These allow you to upgrade your abilities, imbuing them with new traits or extra features.

Ranking up in Psychonauts 2 can be done in a number of ways. The main way you can rank up is by collecting figments which are colourful sketches littered about the many levels in the game.
Finding collectables hidden throughout the real-world locations and minds will also push you towards that next rank. Finally, combining Psi Challenge Cards with a Psi Core at the Otto-Matic shop will give you a rank boost as well.

Psychonauts 2’s highest rank is rank 102. It is the ultimate badge of honor highlighting that you have 100% the game and completed all there is to do.
In order to reach rank 102, you will need to fully complete every world, obtaining every collectable there is to find and finding all the figments. You will also need to complete all the side quests in the game.
